What it does

Built for the annual pilgrimage at Ebuhleni, where tens of thousands of people arrive over a few days and some of them get separated. Stewards at Help Points log each case, match reports and hand people back to their families.

Starts from the steward

The console is used standing up, on patchy signal. It saves offline and catches up when the connection returns.

Children are handled differently

A found child is never listed with a contact number. A steward checks the adult collecting them and records the handover.

Lost property, claimed properly

The owner describes the item to claim it. Nobody posts a photo of a found wallet and waits.
